Neighborcare Health 45th Street Dental Clinic

Seattle, WA

Renovation and structural upgrades to a community dental clinic within an occupied, historic 1913 building.

Completed within the historic Wallingford Fire and Police Station built in 1913, this renovation modernized and expanded Neighborcare Health’s dental clinic on the second floor, alongside structural upgrades to the building. The renovation opened the previously compartmentalized floor plan, ushering in more daylight and making room for a smoother flow of operations. Open operatories, lab and sterilization, staff room, conference room, and reception area were all renovated and expanded, equipping the clinic to be able to serve even more community members in need.

Executing a renovation within an occupied, landmarked structure in a high-traffic neighborhood required careful safety planning and close coordination throughout construction. Historic features of the original firehouse were preserved where possible, connecting the modern facility to its storied past.
