A build-out of the eighth floor to created 42 new Cardiac Intensive Care rooms. It included retrofit of the penthouse and all rough-in work above the ceiling of the occupied seventh floor surgery wing that was operating a full on-going surgery schedule.
To minimize construction impact, the work site was accessed through the installation of an eight-story man-lift for construction crews and materials and also involved daily coordination with Life-Flight Northwest as the project site was directly adjacent the hospital’s helipad.
Abbott was involved with the project from the schematic design stage, and assisted with program options, value engineering suggestions, estimating and logistics for all major issues through construction documents.
