Abbott Helps Build Greener, Healthier Schools

In celebration of Earth Day, Abbott supported another Day of Service with Washington Green Schools and the Seattle Sounders on April 18th. Washington Green Schools is a non-profit that provides schools with the support and resources needed to empower the next generation of environmental leaders. Abbott partners with this organization twice a year to transform the neglected outdoor areas of local schools into sustainable spaces for hands-on learning.

This time volunteers spent the day enhancing outdoor space for the 600 students of Shorewood Elementary School in Burien. Work included building new garden beds, creating wheelchair accessible garden space, upgrading the kindergarten garden beds and creating a natural reflection space for students to find quiet on campus.
