UCLA Margo Leavin Graduate Art Studios
Project Overview
Located in the heart of the Hayden Tract district, this stunning new art center was the fulfillment of a long-awaited dream of UCLA for an environment befitting its distinguished arts program — rated second in the United States. The project revitalized an existing WWII era warehouse at its core, and surrounded it with an integrated new two-story, sky-lit structure with an open air courtyard and workspaces. This dynamic new facility houses an expansive art studio for every medium, as well as education spaces and a sophisticated gallery.
This LEED Gold project featured numerous concrete applications, including tilt-up panels, and was awarded the Grand Prize by the ACI Southern California, as well as other architectural awards. This project was completed under a CM at Risk Contract.
