As Superintendent at Abbott Construction, Matt is responsible for project safety, coordinating and scheduling subcontractors and Abbott employees and quality control. However, the biggest part of his job is trouble shooting issues due to unknown site conditions, missing information on plans, and logistical challenges.
Matt is a calm and reasonable leader when dealing with subcontractors and other team members. He treats everyone equally whether they own the building or sweep the floors. He is reminded of a quote that he often thinks about: “people won’t always remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel”. This has stuck with him his whole life and he does his best to practice it in a positive way every day.
Matt’s background is in restaurant construction and he has traveled the country for 10 years building and remodeling restaurants in over 20 States. He has had the privilege of working with clients such as Outback Steakhouse, Millers Ale House, McDonalds, Gordon Biersch, Rock Bottom, Olive Garden, and many other chains that can be found in most shopping malls or rest stops off the highway.
Matt’s biggest hobbies outside of work are spending time with his young son, home improvement, hunting or trying to capture wildlife on film.
